This is a website that lets you turn your Spotify GDPR data into a colourful graph that visualizes how songs dip in and out of your listening patterns over time.

In the summer of 2020, I interned at Google. Originally, I was going to relocate to Seattle and work on front-end components for Google Cloud (🥴), but then the coronavirus attacked. All of our projects got scrapped and they told us to “build something that uses internet APIs”. My original idea was to create a service based on the Spotify API, but the Spotify API forbids commercial use, so I could do no such thing while I was employed by our Big Tech overlords.

However, they can’t restrict what you do with your GDPR data once you’ve downloaded. What if it just happens to get uploaded into this website? :)
